My studio is equipped to serve the individual needs of each family. My studio closet includes accessories and wardrobe for client use easing the burden of extra shopping and worry before your newborn session.
Safety of your newborn is of the utmost importance. All posing is done with the highest level of care and patience. Specific poses are not guaranteed, each newborn has their own tolerance of each pose and I follow their lead. My studio is a clean, warm, “Baby spa” environment. Your experience will be crafted with an eye toward detailed, timeless and simple portraits. My intention is to keep the focus of the images on your sweet baby.
We want to capture all the important little details; their restful curly sleepy poses, pouty lips, chubby cheeks, little fingers, tiny little toes, cute bums and all the squishy rolls that your baby is going to grow out of in just a few weeks. I love to use soft colors of white, creams and muted neutrals. On occasion, I will add in small pops of color, but I don’t like anything to distract from your baby. I try to keep things Pure and Simple. I seldom use many props besides, hats, headbands, blankets, and wraps. I prefer to keep the focus on the baby.
You will walk away with some beautiful pieces of artwork to adorn your beautiful home. Images that will remind you of those first few days of your baby fitting perfectly into your arms, their sounds and their aroma. Forever bottling up that feeling of new love. A reminder of just how intense your love is and the deep devotion that only a parent can understand…… a reminder to remember every little detail, your mind will fill with new details daily and yesterday’s memories fade a bit each day. Your newborn deserves the best.
To capture this most important milestone it is best to book while you are pregnant. Newborn sessions are best photographed in the first 2 weeks of life, but it’s never too late. I do understand, the first few weeks of your baby’s life pass extremely fast … and before you know it your baby is a month old. It’s okay! Your baby might still let us put him/her in some of the newborn poses even if your baby is 6 or 8 weeks old. I don’t give up easily.
When you schedule your baby’s newborn session while you are still pregnant, I tentatively schedule your session on your due date. Then, after your baby arrives we arrange a more official appointment. I only accept a limited number of newborn sessions each month, arranging your newborn session is imperative for the best possible experience.
